"Slightly more out of the way than most boot sales, however very cheaply priced and much larger.
Finding good things is slightly difficult and tedious amidst lots of people selling new goods, but there is gold to be found. (I found this purple Vera Pelle bag for £5. Not in the best condition but still a decent find nonetheless!!)
There are toilets on site and a burger place also selling drinks so amenities are sorted.
Getting here by public transport is a bit of a pain in the butt, so here are some tips I gathered:
• Chigwell station is the nearest tube/TfL stop.
• You cannot get to Chigwell directly from Stratford, you have to get 2 central line trains.
• You must catch the Woodford-Hainault (or reverse) shuttle from one of the two said stations, which stops at Chigwell.
• Once you get to Chigwell station, you can walk the entire way. Some of the path closer to the bootsale is very leafy, so be careful on the road.
Overall a good bootsale, worth exploring but too far out of my way for me to come back to regularly. Still recommend if you’re somewhat close by."
"It’s £6 to get in but so worth it.
You need to keep in mind what you’re looking for, if you’re looking to buy furniture or large items then mainly look outside, if you want jewellery/small high value items then search indoors. Some people take carts to carry things. I go even if there’s risk of rain because I can just go indoors and there’s usually less people.
You need cash but sometimes sellers will accept card or bank transfers, and there is a paid (£1.99) cash machine if you need (ask the seller to put the item aside though/leave a small deposit if you can). It’s a lovely day out with a great view of the Malvern hills, and good exercise as there’s a lot of stalls to walk around. You can buy food too. Dog friendly."
"It was very good, my only 2 issues, which is why I didnt rank it five stars, early birds are £7, which is quite hefty, if you are going for that option, I suggest that you book online instead, as you get a lil priority & another issue is only a small amount of sellers setup when the early birds are allowed in, and the other sellers gradually come to setup. I would prefer majority of sellers prepare prior to buyer. To gain a great experience March-September are the best periods!"
